DJs Katrine Ring and Stephan Bomberg reinvent classical music every Wednesday at Avenue Hotel.

DJ Stephan Bomberg kick-starts the new season of Yellow Lounge by exploring the incestuous relationship between classical music, electronica and jazz on Wednesday 2 February, 8-11 pm.

Happy guests enjoyed the avenue feeling and the beautiful summer night on Avenue’s patio on Wednesday 16 June.

Bar Manager Kenneth greeted guests with his own exotic concoction Avenue Oriental Style, while chefs Marie and Thomas grilled organic pork and flounder on the patio.

Guests lounged on the comfy sofas on the patio enjoying summery Italian rosé wine…

…refreshing organic wheat beer…

…selected delicacies from the Danish summer crop.

Chef Thomas worked as quick as lightning to restock popular delicacies like green pea dip with twist-breads, pearl barley salad with green asparagus and tomato salad with pickled red onions…

…and to finish: Danish strawberries galore with double cream. Only available in the very short summer season the Danes insist that no other strawberries compare.

DJ Peer Kaae created the mood with classical ear hangers, while soloist Andreas Birk delighted guests by playing Bach on his favourite instrument, the viola.

Søren from iCycle let adventurous guests try Avenue’s new electric bikes ensuring them fair wind on the city’s competitive bike paths.

Yellow Lounge will be back in August.

Inspired by the arrival of summer Avenue Hotel invites you to join them for an informal barbecue and cocktails in their courtyard on Wednesday 26 May, 5-7 pm.
They throw the barbecue to celebrate the première of their new film avenuebikenight with DJ Katrine Ring, avenue and their innovative electric bikes in the leading roles.
Afterwards you may go for a ride on one of their cool new bikes.

Barbecue and cocktails in the courtyard
Chefs Marie and Thomas cook the way they smile, and they’ll have you smiling as well as they prepare some delicious chow for you.
They’ll grill
- Miniature spears with organic pork seasoned with sage and rose pepper
- Miniature beef sausages seasoned with herbs
- Maybe some fish, they haven’t really made up their minds yet…

To accompany the meat they’ll serve
- Salad of fresh green asparagus, pearl barley, peas and cucumber flavoured with citric vinaigrette
- Salad of spring cabbage, baked apricots and fresh goat’s cheese flavoured with apple vinegar
- New Danish potatoes in a pesto of lovage and walnuts
- Foccaia with malt, rapeseed oil and thyme

To finish it all off they’ll spoil you with
- Rhubarb trifle

And of course Avenue Hotel will serve their popular Yellow Lounge Cocktails.

Copenhagen Wednesdays no longer need to be dull and uneventful. Together with Deutsche Grammophon, Avenue Hotel presents its weekly Yellow Lounge evenings where celebrated DJs, Peer Kaae and Katrine Ring, take turns to mix classical music in the laid back surroundings of the hotel lounge.

The Yellow Lounge concept was born in Berlin at the dawn of the new millenium, the idea being to take the classical music out of the concert halls and bring it to people in a different form and in new, exciting environments.

Come and try out the unique concept free of charge (!) every Wednesday from 20:00 – 23:00 at the Avenue Hotel lounge bar. Lean back in the couches with a cocktail, close your eyes and let the DJ treat you to an outstanding experience.
