Welcome Party for Paul Smith’s Art Elephant
Avenue Hotel celebrated ELEPHANT PARADE COPENHAGEN 2011 and welcomed the art elephant designed by Paul Smith, the acclaimed British fashion designer, on Thursday 16 June.
Mai Kappenberger, General Manager at Avenue Hotel, welcomed the guests and enjoyed the evening alongside Signe Ejerskov and Timm Mehrens from Elephant Parade Copenhagen.
Bartender Kaspar mixed fresh summer berries and Cherry Heering Liquor for Copenhagen Elephant Cocktails, a tasty tribute to Paul Smith’s art elephant and Elephant Parade Copenhagen 2011.
Chef Thomas Stig spoiled the guests with an Asian Style buffet including seasonal delicacies like grilled shrimps and Danish strawberries.
Johannes and Andreas from the notorious party band “De glade sømænd” (The happy sailors”) made a surprise visit and brought down the house.

As night fell, elephant fans, Sophia and Chantal, found refuge from the rain under Paul Smith’s art elephant in the middle of the patio at Avenue Hotel.
When the evening ended the guests were treated to goodie bags sponsored by Paul Smith and Avenue Hotel.
Paul Smith, the acclaimed British fashion designer, has designed an art elephant with a vivid floral print inspired by the infamous Bloomsbury Group to support the outdoor art exhibition “Elephant Parade Copenhagen 2011”.
The elephant will be exhibited in the courtyard at Avenue Hotel until 25 August.
