Storm P. Museum reopens on 3 May 2012
Robert Storm Peteren, almost exlusively known by his pen name, Storm P., was a much-loved Danish humorist, cartoonist and artist, who died in 1949. The museum in his honour, Storm P. Museet, will reopen on Thursday 3 May 2012 after a thorough renovation.
The reopening is celebrated with the opening of the special exhibition, First Class!
Experience the Updated Storm P. Museum
In the updated Storm P. Museum visitors will be invited to enter Storm P.’s personal workspace and peek over his shoulder. IPads allow museum guests to enter Storm P.’s life, his age and his artistic universe.
The general exhibition features a string of Storm P.’s paintings and drawings, as well as cartoons with many of his well-known (to the Danes, at least) figures, like Peter & Ping, ‘The Three Little Men’ and his ‘flies’ (satirical cartoons).
Children have their own trail through the exhibition, guided by iPods or smart phones, and they can explore Storm P.’s ingenious inventions hands-on.
The reopening of Storm P. Museet is celebrated with the special exhibition, FIRST CLASS!, where eight fans of Storm P., all of them notable personalities in their own right, select and explain their favourite works by the beloved Danish artist.
