The Most Unique and Colourful Street Party in Copenhagen
August is the perfect time for festivals and street parties in Copenhagen.
One of the best and most colourful festivals is Copenhagen Pride, which was voted The Best Street Party 2010 by the readers of the highly respected city guide AOK.
The party culminates in a free open-air concert on Saturday 20 August at 4 pm at the City Hall Square.
Colourful and Unique Party
“It is one of the most colourful and unique parties in Copenhagen,” wrote the city guide AOK as it awarded Copenhagen Pride the title as The Best Street Party in Copenhagen 2010. Copenhagen Pride is a four day festival high-lighting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual culture with open-air films, concerts, debates, parties and of course the popular parade through the city.
Parade and Free Open-air Concert
Copenhagen Pride 2011 invites the entire city to celebrate diversity as the Pride Parade marches (or more correctly dances) its way from Frederiksberg Town Hall to Copenhagen City Hall on Saturday 20 August at 1 pm.
The party culminates at 4 pm with the free open-air concert on the City Hall Square. The concert is hosted by pop star Julie Berthelsen and fashion personality Jim Lyngvild, who expect around 40,000 happy spectators.
