Noma awarded ‘The Best Restaurant in the World’ for the 3rd Year Running
Restaurant Noma in Copenhagen was awarded the title “The Best Restaurant in the World” by the British Restaurant Magazine on Monday 30 April 2012.
It is the third year running 800 restaurant professionals award chef René Redzepi and his team the coveted title for their trendsetting New Nordic Cuisine.
In 2012 Restaurant Geranium with Rasmus Kofoed, in 2011 crowned ‘The World’s Best Chef’, at the helm entered the Top 50 in Restaurant Magazine’s annual search for the best restaurants in the world.
Accessible Alternatives to Noma
As Restaurant Noma is booked out six months in advance – and costs an arm and a leg – we propose you try the below restaurants, which are more accessible and less costly alternatives inspired by the New Nordic Cuisine:
Chef Christian Puglisi serves creative, mainly organic, food in low-key surroundings at Restaurant Relæ in the vibrant neighbourhood Nørrebro
Serving Copenhagen’s freshest fish, and a groovy atmosphere, makes Fiskebaren the ideal place to start a night out in the happening Kødbyen (meat-packing district).
