Anna Thygesen, Managing Director at PrimeTime DIVA, knows women and how to communicate with them. She sees a lot of her ideas put into action at Avenue Hotel.

Anna Thygesen is Managing Director at PrimeTime DIVA, a PR and communications agency specializing in communicating efficiently to women.
Anna Thygesen writes for the leading Danish marketing magazine MARKEDSFØRING, and uses Avenue Hotel for seminars and meetings on a regular basis. She has kindly agreed to share her insights on communication and good service in Copenhagen with us.

You have to be Humble
“You have to earn the right to have women buy your product,” says Anna Thygesen, “and that takes humility.”
“Women are more complex in their buying patterns than men are,” she adds, “men want things that function, whereas women want all the parameters to be top notch.”

Advice in Anna Thygesen’s Column
“In my column in the marketing magazine MARKEDSFØRING I write about how women differ from men in their buying behaviour,” says Anna Thygesen.
“For instance women are much more sceptical about paid advertising than men are. Women prefer to have a product recommended by someone in their network”.

Good Service in Copenhagen
“I prefer the small specialty stores where the sales assistants manage to create a personal bond, so I feel that I actually know them,” says Anna Thygesen.
“The guys at the Italian grocers Ello Food are great because they are passionate about their goods,” she continues.
“They know their products and can vouch for them, so I go there even though the store itself is nothing special.”
Pico is a small chain of stores,” Anna Thygesen finishes, ”they sell fairly low-priced scarves and jewellery for women of all ages. They have very competent guidelines for their sales staff, who know to service the customers and are great at wrapping their inexpensive items so they look amazing.”

Avenue Hotel delivers the Goods
“Avenue Hotel exemplifies what I preach to my clients,” says Anna Thygesen.
“The guests are the centre of attention, the team is on their toes and everybody is in tune. My clients are always happy to spend time at Avenue”.

And of course there are differences in vintages, regions, winemaking styles, and oak-aging regimes. One way to separate wines is into one of three broad categories: (a) wines that age, (b) wines that do not, and a third sort of gray area in which a wine may or may not age well based on various situations.
