The ever-popular entertainment park, Tivoli Gardens, experiences an extra buzz every Friday as popular Danish and international musical stars take the centre stage for open air concerts.

CPHmade seems like a concept whose time has come. The network has grown from six members when it was inaugurated in September 2011 to 40+ in March 2012. One of the first to get on board was the makers of exquisite furniture, Rud. Rasmussen.

“We wish to celebrate and promote the products and shops which are uniquely Copenhagen. The ones you can find only here,” says Asger Daugbjerg, founder and partner at CPHmade.
CPHmade is a new network for businesses which develop and/or design – but definitely produce and sell – their products in Copenhagen.

Unique Products with an Interesting Story
“We try to identify what is unique about the city – in this case Copenhagen – and particularly the products which are unique with a story that will be attractive to locals and visitors alike,” says his business partner, Brian Engblad.
The two entrepreneurs run a successful business consultancy, GlobeEight, specializing in innovation and sustainability, and founded CPHmade in September 2011. They were both born and raised in Copenhagen but due to their consultancy work travel throughout the world and have lived in the USA and Singapore, respectively.
Brian Engblad adds: “We have both seen our fair share of airports and main streets on all continents. We started CPHmade because we wanted to move away from the trivial and mainstream and focus on items which possess a certain kind of authenticity, history and dedication in the production process.”

Rasmus Kofoed, winner of the unofficial World Championship for chefs in 2011 and Head Chef at gourmet temple, Geranium, was expected to be awarded acoveted Michelin star, when the Michelin Guide hit the streets on Wednesday 14 March.

Michelin Guide shows a New – More Adventurous – Style
Rasmus Kofoed, winner of Bocuse D’Or 2011, the unofficial World Championship for chefs, and Head Chef at gourmet temple, Geranium, was expected to win one of the stars.
It was more surprising that laid-back, slightly hippieish, Restaurant Relæ in eclectic neighbourhood, Nørrebro, was awarded a star alongside highly professional but low-key Grønbech & Churchill and almost suburban Den Røde Cottage.

To celebrate the ten year anniversary of fashion magazine, DANSK, Danish Design Centre has organised the exhibition “10 Years of DANSK – A Decade of Danish Fashion”, cherry-picking highlights from Danish fashion of the past decade.

Creative entrepreneurs, Kim Grenaa and Uffe Buchard, founded the international fashion magazine, DANSK, ten years ago.
To celebrate the anniversary Danish Design Centre has organised the exhibition “10 Years of DANSK – A Decade of Danish Fashion”, cherry-picking highlights from the Danish fashion history of the past decade.

The Special DNA of Danish Fashion
“We hope the exhibition will further the understanding of the recent Danish fashion history in the general public, and that it will give a clear impression of the special DNA which characterises Danish fashion at the moment,” say Kim Grenaa and Uffe Buchard, founders and editors of DANSK Magazine.
DANSK Magazine helps create a platform for Danish fashion internationally as the bi-annual publication is distributed on six continents.

In the last decade Danish fashion has experienced tremendous growth and success.
