“I just googled ‘coolest hotel in Copenhagen’ and Avenue Hotel popped up,” says pop star John Taylor from Duran Duran, adding, “Avenue Hotel looked really homey so I just had to stay here.”
John Taylor was in Copenhagen to launch his new autobiography “In the Pleasure Grove: Love, Death and Duran Duran” and was busy talking to journalists and being photographed during his entire stay at Avenue Hotel.
“A Fascinating, Irresistible Portrait”
In his frank, compelling autobiography, John Taylor recounts the highs – hanging out with icons like Bowie, Warhol and James Bond; dating Vogue models, like Danish super model René Toft Simonsen, and driving fast cars – all the while playing hard with the band he loved. But there were tough battles ahead – troubles that brought him to the brink of self-destruction – before turning his life around.
The story is “told with humour, honesty and hard-won wisdom” according to literary website Goodreads.com, which goes on to call it “a fascinating, irresistible portrait of a man who danced into the fire… and came through the other side.”
