Lotte and Nikolaos Strangas set new standards for cakes and desserts in Copenhagen, when they opened their gourmet pastry shop and café, Nikolaos Strangas Conditori & Cakeaway, in 2010.
At Strangas Cakeaway the dynamic duo focuses on quality, organic ingredients and ban artificial additives, a philosophy they take with them, when they eat out in Copenhagen.

The Family Passion
The Strangas family shares a passion for savoury sweets and desserts.
“I easily foresee a future in the pastry business for Sophia,” says Lotte Strangas of her and Nikolaos Strangas’ six-year-old daughter, Sophia.
Lotte Strangas  has almost a decade’s experience in the hospitality business and runs the shop at Nikolaos Strangas Conditori & Cakeaway, whereas Nikolaos Strangas is a trained pastry chef and has run the pastry kitchen at high-profiled, Michelin-starred, Restaurant Era Ora.
“Sophia loves helping out at the pastry shop,” adds Lotte Strangas with a big smile.
“Only, she gets to eat the cakes she makes herself, they are not yet fit to be served for guests”.

Quality Restaurants in Copenhagen
“Quality is super important to us on all levels,” emphasizes Lotte Strangas.
“We would rather eat out once a month at a high-quality place than five times a month at restaurants which serve food of a lesser quality or with lots of artificial additives.”
“Rasmus Oubæk is the King of Béarnaise in Copenhagen,” says Lotte Strangas of the owner of two of their favourite restaurants, Retour and Retour Steak. Both restaurants are famous among Copenhageners for laid-back, yet brilliant, service, and amazing steaks with great-tasting sauce béarnaise at a reasonable price.
Among the many Michelin-starred restaurants in Copenhagen, the couple prefer Geranium, run by ‘The World’s Best Chef’, Rasmus Kofoed.
