Avenue Hotel selected for the White Line Hotels Network

Monday, January 24th, 2011
The innovative network White Line Hotels prefers hotels which serve home-baked bread, display original art on their walls and know their local neighbourhoods like the back of their hands.

The innovative network White Line Hotels prefers hotels which serve home-baked bread, display original art on their walls and know their local neighbourhoods like the back of their hands.

The innovative hotel network, White Line Hotels, only selects members who have soul, personality and edge; and only one hotel per destination.
We are proud to announce that White Line Hotels has chosen Avenue Hotel to represent them in Copenhagen.

“Avenue is more than a Hotel”
“I look for places that have a soul factor,” says Iain Ainsworth, the founder of White Line Hotels, “it is almost like finding a long lost friend – you instinctively know.”
“For me Avenue is more than just a hotel; it has emotion and a feeling that it was put together with love and over a long period of time. Besides General Manager Mai Kappenberger is a genuinely lovely person.”

Independent Network with an Edge
The network White Line Hotels was started by a group of friends who wanted to create a company focusing on individuality, humanity and having fun.
White Line Hotels does not pay much attention to how many stars a hotel has. They prefer hotels which serve home-baked bread, display original art on their walls and know their local neighbourhoods like the back of their hands.

We invited prize-winning cake designer David Duncan to Copenhagen to help us introduce Fashion High Tea to the style-conscious Copenhageners.

David Duncan is a young, dynamic cake designer and entrepreneur who creates cakes to make your chin drop.
We invited David Duncan to Copenhagen so you would get the chance to meet him at our Fashion High Teas during Copenhagen Fashion Week 2011.

Supplier to the Stars and Fashion Darling
The Scottish cake designer David Duncan has taken the British cake and fashion world by storm.
He has designed cakes for celebrities as diverse as the opera phenomenon Paul Potts and the rock band Crowded House, and the British fashion bible Vogue featured a selection of his fashion inspired cakes in their summer 2010 issue.
David Duncan supplies cakes for the fashionable department store Harvey Nichols, select clients in Great Britain and South Africa, and in 2011 he will be flying to the USA to design the wedding cake for a – yet unnamed – VIP.

Made a Success of his Dream
David Duncan always had a strong creative streak, and helping his granny bake and decorate the most beautiful cakes in her kitchen, as a little boy, probably stared his dream of becoming a cake designer.
David Duncan followed his dream and at the age of 22 he gave up a job in the IT industry to start the company 3D Cakes. In just four years he has built a successful web business and two cake shops with a total of nine employees. David Duncan and his team have, as the only company ever, won the coveted VOWS (Voted Outstanding Wedding Suppliers) “Cake Designer” Awards two years in a row as the best cake designer in Scotland.

Meet David Duncan at Avenue Fashion High Tea
David Duncan will not only design the cakes for Avenue Fashion High Tea. He will personally run the trolleys, and enlighten you about the sophisticated process of how his stylish cakes come to be.

One of the initial products of this research was the construction of a radon generator, the first in the United States. In 1921, Failla was the first to suggest that radiation doses be expressed as the amount of radiation energy absorbed and made the first dose estimates in radium therapy in terms of microcalories per cc of tissue. There are many ways to categorize wine, the most obvious being by color. Red wines clearly differ from whites. And of course there are differences in vintages, regions, winemaking styles, and oak-aging regimes. One way to separate wines is into one of three broad categories: (a) wines that age, (b) wines that do not, and a third sort of gray area in which a wine may or may not age well based on various situations. Another 5% are in Category B, and 5% in Category C..
